For our client, a leading company in the pharmaceutical sector, we are seeking a Population Health Insights Lead for Population Health Group.

In this role, you will provide evidence based epidemiological expertise to generate, validate and manage epidemiology data for patient population forecasts for access initiatives and strategic and business planning over the lifecycle of the product.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop R packages to support the group in the transition from excel to R based model development
  • Analysis of different data sources such as Real-World Data (RWD), population health datasets, and literature to collect model inputs
  • Identify, assess and utilize high quality epidemiological data sources to generate epidemiology forecasting models to support strategic access and business related decisions across product portfolio
  • Assist the team in training and development as it relates to using and understanding R packages and codes
  • Communication and engagement with key stakeholders across the organization on the use of treatment impact models in decision making
  • Continuous evolution of Global Access into an outcome focused, agile organization by expertly identifying gaps, opportunities, and a clear line of sight to improve patient access and outcomes.
  • Maintain and utilize internal access and epidemiology infrastructure (databases and applications) for access and epidemiology research information network on national and international levels
  • Work collaboratively and strategically partner across functions, regions and affiliates and externally with key stakeholders



Must Haves:
 

  • Graduate or higher-level Degree in epidemiology (e.g. Masters of Public Health or PhD in epidemiology); or Graduate or higher-level Degree (MS or PhD) in quantitative methods, economics, pharmacology or a related discipline with Post-Graduate qualification in epidemiology; or Medical Degree (RN, MD) with Post-Graduate qualification in epidemiology
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft excel and statistic programs such as R or SAS
  • Strong knowledge of epidemiological principles and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of national and international health statistics, surveillance data and health surveys in defined disease areas, in particular their strengths and weaknesses
  • Familiarity with evidence synthesis methods such as meta-analyses
  • Epidemiology or health outcomes experience in either post-graduate academic work or the pharmaceutical industry or a service provider organization (e.g., contract research organization/CRO)
  • Experience designing, conducting, analyzing and interpreting epidemiological studies (includes healthcare/pharmaceutical HTA related experience) and/or Real World Data (RWD) studies
  • Knowledge or experience working within the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English both oral and written
