About the team
The YouTube Creator Visual Design (visD) team plays a crucial role in shaping the visual experience for YouTube Creators. This team is responsible for overseeing the design of Creator products like YouTube Studio and Analytics, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience that aligns with the broader YouTube brand. The team supports 30+ designers and engages with several groups of cross-functional partners, designing the Creator design system, specs, product design, art direction, imagery and motion to transform product strategy into polished experiences in production.
Team/Product goals
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Visual Designer to join our team in Zurich. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and evolving the YouTube Creator design system, with a focus on Figma libraries and documentation. Your work will directly contribute to the quality, consistency, and scalability of the YouTube Creator visual language.
Role scope
- Maintain and evolve the YouTube Creator design system
- Focus on documenting Studio-specific components and guidelines within internal tool
- Ensure Figma libraries are organized, up-to-date, and effectively serve the design team
- Contribute to the overall quality and consistency of the YouTube Creator visual language
- Collaborate effectively with UX designers and engineers
- Communicate design system updates and best practices clearly and effectively
Ideal candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6-8 years of professional experience in UX design
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UX/UI design
- Experience in implementing design systems across various platforms
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, with understanding of motion design principles
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A passion for design craft and attention to detail
- Ability to integrate user research and feedback into the design process
- A drive for simplicity and pixel-perfect design
- Nice to have: Motion design and familiarity with Lottie framework and coding for animation
