We are seeking a motivated and experienced Specialist in HSE Engineering Support to join our team within the industrial production sector. This role is crucial for ensuring safety and compliance in various engineering projects.

The Specialist will manage LOTOTO procedures, conduct safety walk-downs and audits, and oversee training management within the HSE Engineering Support team. This is a key position to help us maintain a safe and efficient working environment throughout our project phases.
 

  • Industry: Chemical / Pharmaceutical / Industrial Production
  • Location: Visp – 100% onsite
  • Duration : 1 year
  • Start date : ASAP


Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage LOTOTO (Lock Out Tag Out Try Out) procedures across different projects.
  • Provide expert advice on LOTOTO activities to ensure safety compliance.
  • Perform safety walk-downs and audits, including CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and manage related reporting.
  • Issue permits and manage audit documentation, particularly for confined spaces.
  • Review and approve risk analyses, ensuring thorough and compliant documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and update safety procedures and documentation as per legislative changes.
  • Ensure all employees are trained in relevant safety procedures and that necessary courses are undertaken.
  • Approve procedures for the separation of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure awareness of potentially hazardous commissioning activities within project teams.
  • Maintain clear communication lines between teams on safety issues throughout the commissioning phase.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to PTW (Permit to Work) and LOTOTO procedures.
  • Continuously improve safety practices during the commissioning phase.
  • Report and document any accidents or incidents during commissioning.
  • Support the safety incentive system through communication sessions and suggestion boxes.


Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Technical education or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Safety Engineering.
  • Further Education: Professional HSE accreditation from a recognized institution (e.g., SUVA certificate).
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in an EHS role within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial production sectors, with specific experience in LOTO(TO) activities.
  • Languages: Fluent in English with advanced German skills (minimum B2 level).
  • General Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of commissioning practices, particularly within the construction or pharmaceutical industries.
    • Strong familiarity with Swiss HSE codes and standards.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications.
    • Strong understanding of P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially for training purposes.
    • Ability to define and optimize process flows and understand cross-process relationships.
